This culture, while demanding, has resulted in exceptional outcomes: in the past year alone, Nvidia’s revenue soared past $120 billion, with profits outpacing nearly every other chipmaker and recurring announcements of multi-billion dollar partnerships with the world’s leading tech firms.

Lucy Gao, billionaire co-founder of Scale AI, echoed these sentiments: “I would say that if you feel the need for work-life balance, maybe you’re not in the right work,” urging young professionals to seek careers where passion overrides the need for downtime.

For Huang, the traditional concept of work-life balance has all but vanished. As he confesses, even his attempts at leisure are overshadowed by thoughts of Nvidia and the future of AI. Yet, this unwavering dedication has positioned both him and his company as the heartbeat of the global tech economy.

In the end, the costs are personal: for Huang, leisure is a memory eclipsed by leadership, while for employees, the rewards are balanced by the demands.
